General Psychology
An introduction to psychology and scientific literacy emphasizing scientific thinking, research methods, biological psychology, learning, memory, development, social psychology, sensation and perception, psychological disorders, and treatment.
Cognitive Psychology
Upper-level study of attention, perception, memory, language, reasoning, decision making, problem solving, and knowledge.
Research Methods & Statistics
Experimental/correlational design, statistical analysis, research ethics, scientific writing, data visualization, APA style, and the interpretation of psychological research.
Health Psychology
Study of psychological, biological, and social influences on health, illness, stress, coping, chronic disease, health behavior, and healthcare.
Biological Psychology
Examination of brain-behavior relationships, including neurons, neurotransmission, neuroanatomy, sensory systems, hormones, emotion, motivation, and psychopharmacology (i.e., drugs…).
Human Memory
Upper-level course focused on encoding, retrieval, forgetting, working memory, autobiographical memory, supermemory, and memory disorders.
History of Psychology
Historical foundations of psychology, including major theoretical perspectives, influential psychologists, schools of thought, methods, and the development of psychology as a science.
Social Psychology
Study of how people think about, influence, and relate to one another, including social cognition, attitudes, persuasion, conformity, prejudice, group behavior, attraction, aggression, and prosocial behavior.
Psychology of Learning
Course focused on principles of classical conditioning, operant conditioning, reinforcement, punishment, avoidance, observational learning, and behavioral applications.
Sensation and Perception
An exploration of human vision, including object recognition, motion, and color, as well as human hearing, kinesthesis, olfaction, gustation, and flavor.
Psychology in Film
An elective course that combines the art of filmmaking and the psychological concepts portrayed in films. A classroom extension of The CinemaPsych Podcast.
